What I do:
In every project, I focus on achieving measurable business results with a keen eye for highly functional user experiences. I back this with standards based, accessible XHTML and CSS. Every site I do is a custom solution from top to bottom. Each business has its own goals and requirements and I build a site that looks and functions to achieve those goals.

Content Management of Choice : MODx and Wordpress
I use MODx for its flexibility and lightness on its feet. Its page load times are quick and unlike many others MODx doesn't get bogged down loading unessential modules and code. It gives me the freedom to put together a site the way I choose and doesn't force me to think about the CMS when designing a site. It's backend is clean and simple and keeps end users happy as well. If you are comfortable digging into the code to build and customize, MODx gives you freedoms you just don't find elsewhere.
Depending on client requirements and expectations sometimes a more economic solution is Wordpress. Wordpress has a plethora of modules that can give you advanced functionality in a easy plug and play fashion. Just about anything can be built in Wordpress but at its heart its a blogging engine. I believe in using the right tool for the job so I don't use Wordpress for more complex sites what would benefit from the flexibility of a full fledged system like MODx.
